OPTION COASTAL


OPTION COAST:

This permit allows to drive a vessel of pleasure of a motive power of more than 4.5 kilowatts at sea and on lakes or closed water, up to 6 miles of a shelter, about 12 kilometres.

Driving a pleasure beyond these distances boat, to possess, in addition to the coast, the offshore extension.

The coastal option permit is also required to operate a watercraft to motor (VNM), like a speedboat or a sea scooter. It allows to use only day and within the limit of 2 miles of a shelter, about 3.7 km.
Candidate:
The applicant must be aged at least 16 years to register for the preparation of this boating permit.

Examination

The Marina coastal option permit includes a theoretical part and part practical.

Theoretical part

The theoretical part takes place in the form of a questionnaire multiple choice (QCM).

Knowledge are checked during an electronic quiz of 30 questions, where 5 mistakes are admitted.



The candidate retains the benefit of successful completion of the theoretical option for 18 months.

Practical part

The practical part consists of a training practice, common to the two options, the coastal option and the Inland option.

It has a specific programme detailed in the booklet of learning.

It lasts at least 3 hours and 30 minutes.

The practical training must be validated by the educational establishment.

OPTION water home


Option internal waters:

The craft option inland waters permit allows driving on the rivers, lakes and canals, a boat of Marina:
motor power of more than 4.5 kilowatts,

and less than 20 metres.

To drive larger boats, must obtain the extension large yachts inland.

This permit is also needed to fly inland, a personal watercraft (VNM) or a sailing vessel of less than 20 metres equipped with an engine of more than 4.5 kilowatts.

Candidate:
It must be at least 16 years old to register for the preparation of this boating permit.

Events d exams :

The permit option inland review consists of 2 events.

Offshore extension

Extension mid:
This permit allows driving a pleasure boat with a motor power of more than 4, 5kilowatts at sea and on lakes or plans of closed waters, day and night, without limit of distance of a shelter or the sides.
Candidate:
The candidate must be at least 16 years old to register for the preparation of the Marina permit.
Test:
The offshore extension presents itself in the form of a theoretical examination, lasting one hour 30.

The candidate will use on this occasion a special card of the hydrographic and oceanographic service of the Navy called review card 9999. This map, used in the review, will be retained by the service instructor.
